A former archaeologist, Kurt Menke is a Certified GIS Professional (GISP) based out of Albuquerque, New Mexico. He received a Master’s degree in Geography from the University of New Mexico in 2000. That same year he founded Bird’s Eye View to apply his expertise with GIS technology towards ecological conservation. His other focus areas are public health and education. He is an avid open source GIS proponent, recently authoring Mastering QGIS for Packt Publishing and Discover QGIS via Locate Press. In 2015 he became an OsGeo Charter Member.
Todd is the CEO and Founder of MapD Technologies. Todd built the original prototype of MapD after tiring of the inability of conventional tools to allow for interactive exploration of big datasets while conducting his Harvard graduate research on the role of Twitter in the Arab Spring. He then joined MIT as a research fellow focusing on GPU databases before turning the MapD project into a startup.
Mark Munsell is Deputy Director, CIO and IT Services Directorate at the the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). In this role, he oversees the directorate’s IT-related capabilities and services and encourages innovative development aimed at streamlining and modernizing NGA’s IT infrastructure to better serve its GEOINT mission partners and corporate customers.
Mark is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University with a degree in Geography and a minor in Aerospace Studies.

Eddie Pickle is a founding member of the LocationTech Working Group, and is Managing Director Open Source Programs at Radiant Solutions. Eddie was the founding CEO of Boundless where he initiated the successful FOSS4G North America conference series, and led the first FedGeoDay for open source in the DC area. He has worked with commercial, government, and non-profit organizations worldwide, and is a Councilor of the American Geographical Society. Eddie holds a Masters degree in Geography from UCLA with a specialization in demography, and a BA in Geography from the University of Tennessee.
