Dan Pilone is a co-founder and CTO of Element 84, Inc. Mr. Pilone oversees the architecture, design, development, and execution of Element 84’s technical projects including work supporting NASA, USGS, and commercial clients. In this capacity Mr. Pilone is responsible for technical direction and strategy, repeatable processes, research and development, innovation and technical adoption, and speaking and outreach. Mr. Pilone has supported the cloud transition of NASA’s Earth Observing System Data and Information Systems and has published several books on software development.
Veda Shankar is a Developer Advocate at MapD working actively to assist the user community to take advantage of MapD’s open source analytics platform. He is a customer oriented IT specialist with a unique combination of experience in product development, marketing and sales engineering. Prior to MapD, Veda worked on various open source software defined data center products at Red Hat.
Raj is a Developer Advocate for Watson and Cloud at IBM. He specializes in data science and all things geospatial. Raj pioneered Web mapping-as-a-service in the late 1990s with Syncline, a startup he co-founded, and worked with many startups on data issues. Prior to IBM, he led geospatial data interoperability projects for the Open Geospatial Consortium. He has a PhD in Information Systems in Planning from MIT.
Brian Snyder is a Weather Integrator for The Weather Company at IBM Watson IoT providing customers the most accurate and precise hyper local data and imagery within the Utilities, Energy and Agriculture verticals infusing Weather into open source predictive models, alerts, outage prediction and load forecasting models with and without Python using open source technologies to do so. Brian will share his 15 years of experience in Analytics spanning Life Sciences, Communications, Retail, Financial Services, Healthcare, Insurance, Travel and Entertainment as the above.
